Brooklyn Book Festival Recap
We caught some nice weather this past Saturday for the BBF. The Fest was held at Borough Hall. I picked up Issues 3 and 4 of Circumference: Poetry in Translation and the latest Ballyhoo Stories. I hung with Bud at MetaxuCafe's booth and Felicia at Small Spiral Notebook's. Archipelago Books, Akashic Books, Soft Skull Press, Words Without Borders, Tin House, and A Public Space were all represented and had great stuff out on their tables. Also, if you were unable to make it out to the Fest, you have another opportunity to spend some time outside with books and book lovers at the Open Air Book Fair this Saturday, September 30th from 10am - 6pm. The Fair will be located at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe @ 126 Crosby Street (South of Houston, between Broadway and Lafayette).
Brooklyn Brewery founder Steve Hindy, author of Beer School: Bottling Success at the Brooklyn Brewery, relates some anecdotes at the Outdoor NonFiction Stage.
A farmer's market and musicians joined the mix. This photo looks west toward the barely discernable Brooklyn Bridge in the distance (at least I think it does).
The steps of Borough Hall Plaza provided seating for the Main Stage.
The Target Children's Pavilion.
So those are the pictures. Overall, it was definitely worth a Saturday on the subway.
